I've read everything from Deathstalker through the Droods, and I've never been disappointed until Ghost of A Chance. The characters are pale parodies of themselves. Although that might be sustainable in a silly short story, it grows ever more painful with each new chapter.There were some bright spots. For example: "He tended to slide and shuffl. Reads like a high-school project. Meh. Not his finest. I couldn't really like the characters much - they seemed like cartoon characters, not much depth. Eddie Drood reads like a real person, these people don't. They kept spouting portentious phrases like "something big and very bad is coming into focus here".And it was really annoying the way JC kept referring to the other two as Children, as in"Children, play nice.".
