I warmly recommend it to all teachers of reading." Linda Dorn. If you have ever been at a loss for what to say and do when confronted with a child who struggles--this book is for you."Bringing a Vygotskian perspective to teaching and learning, Pat and Katie have done a wonderful job of meshing theory and practice to produce a book that is both important and practical. Every teacher of reading plays a vital role in helping to catch those readers for whom learning to read does not come easily
Four Stars Amazon Customer Very practical and applicable. Acquisitions, UNLV Libraries said Four Stars. No problem. this book reads like a survey of the research on good literacy practice S. Floyd I was hoping for something a bit more practical. I find myself starting a chapter and when it gets down to specific examples in the classroom, I'm referred to a different author or book. To me ,this book reads like a survey of the research on good literacy practice rather than hands on what I can do with struggling readers. I'm disappointedâÂÂ.
