"Great Kayaking How To's" according to E. Svanoe. Well organized, well written, well illustrated. Maybe not the definitive text on kayaking, but a very good "How To" that includes skills needed for starting out on flat water all the way into white water skills and what creates rapids. Great focus on safety from beggining to end. Glad it's still available! It should be on every paddlers shelf. Liked it so much that I bought more copies to give to friends and family members that never learned the basics but paddle occaisionaly.. Rick Brook said great. This is a great book. It keeps it simple, if your are looking to start kayaking this is a great book to start with.
