Bounds was also in the habit of rising at four o'clock each morning in order to pray to God, for the great cares of the world were always upon his heart. The family included their five children, as well as two daughters from his first marriage. In the time of E.M. The same is true to this day. Timeless classic Although there a number of modernized versions around, this one is probably the most easy to read and study. The inclusion of the opening illustrative stories (omitted in many other editions), scripture references, topical index and biography makes this edition more comprehensive than others. The insertion (bracketed) and removal (end noted) of words does not detract from Bounds's work as it makes the reading easier to understand. Sentences and verses that Bounds quotes remain in their original rendering (old English). This work on prayer is greatly relevant to the church today as prayer has been crowded out in in the in. Five Stars Awesome. John W. Kuhns said Bounds is good but this collection is too edited. Words are inserted in this version that change the meaning of certain thoughts and take away from its power. Bounds is still good though - it's just better to get it the way he wrote it. Buy The Complete Works of E.M. Bounds on Prayer published by Baker instead. (That version was also changed to use modern language but definitely compares better than this version.)
