DESCRIPTION:

"A sophisticated and complete treatment of harmonic functions" according to Ulfilas. The authors provide a good introduction to the many important theorems, and the proofs for these theorems, many of which are not found in standard textbooks on complex variables. I found it very helpful that the authors discussed and proved the Mean Value Pr. "Excellent text" according to Vishal Kasliwal. We used this text in class for a topics course on Harmonic Analysis. The book is very well written and has a plethora of problems and examples to make sure the reader knows that he is on the right track. An excellent text.. harmonic functions done wrong reader Too many lines of the "it's easily checked that " kinddetract from the value this might have had andwaste the reader's time.It would be smarter to purchase eitherthe Schaums outlines (pde) or one of themany Dover pde reprints.

The book is a nice introduction to the fundamental notions of potential theory." (European Mathematical Society Newsletter, June, 2002)"We warmly recommend this textbook to graduate students interested in Harmonic Function Theory and/or related areas. From the reviews of the second edition: "There are several major changes in this second edition … . Rashkovsky, Zentralblatt MATH, Vol. We are sure that the reader will be able to appreciate the lively and illuminating discussions in this book, and therefore, will certainly gain a better understanding of the subject." (Ferenc Móricz, Acta Scientiarum Mathematicarum, Vol. 959, 2001). 67, 2001)"This is a new edition of a nice textbook … on harmonic functions in Euclidean spaces, suitable for a beginning gra

A unique software package supplements the text for readers who wish to explore harmonic function theory on a computer.. This new edition contains a completely rewritten chapter on spherical harmonics, a new section on extensions of Bochers Theorem, new exercises and proofs, as well as revisions throughout to improve the text. This book is about harmonic functions in Euclidean space
