"I love this book." according to Glenna A. I regret that my major in college was Economics it should have been Art History. I took several Art History courses as an adult (not matriculated) at the University of Rochester, and this book was our text. As an adult student who was motivated by love of artifacts and creativity through the history of man, I loved this book. Somehow, during our relocation from Fairport NY to Charleston SC, my copy was sold at a garage sale (probably for a dollar. my inlaws had no idea of it's worth!). I have been lost without it. There is a historical timeline that parallels goings on in the rest of the world that is very helpful so that you could get the gist of what's going on at the time. Also, in the text itself, it gives definitive explanations to what is happening at the time so that you can understand fully what the artist is saying or where he/she is coming from.
