The latter is a great read, with interesting tidbits about birds and early Borneo ornithologists scattered about.However, this guide is newer, with better illustrations, reflecting the latest taxonomy. Attractive and practical guide. I liked the groundbreaking scope of this guide, and the layout, with separated illustrations for each species. The amount of data for each bird is just enough, and the novel local information and maps are enjoyable. As you can see from the photo I've uploaded, there are a few new illustrations, although the vast majority are taken from Robsons Birds of SE Asia. How
